An inspiring Entrepreneurship story! 152

This is someone’s FB post that took me 10 yrs back in my memory lane when I started my business, leaving a corporate job. A friend of mine who was also a vendor asked me a simple question-

What is the difference between doing a service and doing a business?

And as a newcomer, I didn’t have an answer. He told me with a confidence in his eyes,” Business is for generations and service is for an individual. Just don’t quit because it’s difficult and believe me, what you will go through, your sons will not.”

Today after 10 yrs I truly understood what he meant. Thank you Mr Raja 🙂 and Thanks also to the person who posted this.

Enjoy the story…….

In Delhi, there was a Samosa vendor. His shop was in front of a Big company. His Samosa was so tasty. Most of the employees use to eat that samosa at lunch time.

One day, a Manager came to that guy selling samosas. While he was eating samosa he comes in the fun mood.

He asks a question: You have maintained your shop so nicely and have good management skills. Don’t you think that you are wasting your talent and time by selling just Samosas?

Think, if you were working like me in any big company, you would have been a manager like me, isn’t it?

Poor samosa guy, he smiled at the manager and said awesome lines.
Sir, I thought my work is better than your work. Do u know why?
10 years back I used to sell samosa in tokari (Leaf basket). At same time you got this job. That time I was earning Rs. 1,000 in a month and your salary was 10K. In this 10 years of journey, we did progress a lot.

I owned a shop and became famous ‘samosa-wala’ in this area and you became a manager.
Now you are earning Rs.1 lakh while I am earning same and sometimes more than you. So surely, I can say that my work is better than yours. It’s because of my kids future.

Let me explain –

Please pay close attention to my word. I started my career at lowest income. my son doesn’t have to suffer the same. One day my son will take over my business. He doesn’t have to start from 0. He will get fully established business, but in your case, the benefits will be taken by your boss kids, not by your kids.

You can not offer your same post to your son or daughter. They have to start from zero again. Whatever you have suffered 10 years ago, your kids have to suffer the same.

My son will extend my business from now and when your kid will be manager my son will be far away.
Now tell me who is wasting the Talent and Time.

Manager gave Rs.50 for two samosa’s and he didn’t speak any word and left. 🙂

Note : If this story reaches it’s author, let us know, we want to give credit. After all, it’s your story!

Believing in the philosophy- Do what you love and the rest will follow, Sanchi Aggarwal started Say Cheese Studio to view the world through her lens for perspective. Trained in Electronics and Communications to be an engineer and take forward the already well-established family business was a but obvious expectation from Sanchi but the realisation that her world and calling lay beyond machines & tools was when the creative animal in her started raising its ugly head.

But it was not until her visit to Sai Ashram- an abandoned dog shelter in 2013, that became a defining moment for her. She was really touched by the distress and misery of those suffering dogs and decided to bring about awareness and the needed attention of a larger audience for the cause. And as the visuals say louder than words she clicked pictures and shared with the world. With this she not only succeeded at the mission at hand but also her true calling was found – PHOTOGRAPHY.

Despite the fact that following a creative medium that transcends all barriers be it language, caste, color, creed anything physical or material and yet communicate was a daunting task, she always believed that the only way to capture a good memory is by feeling and being fully immersed in that moment.

When she decided to find her pot of gold in photography, her passion was to become the voice of the voiceless to create awareness about their plight and elicit support for change and betterment. So, the streets, people and the life itself became her stage. She travelled extensively, taking her camera along to the places like Kolkata , Jodhpur , Jaisalmer, Ladakh etc as her motivation comes from all the interesting people she shoots, from her interactions with them and the range of emotions that she is able to capture.

The medium is huge but I chose to document street life because of the innocence and purity of my subjects and to be able to capture them in their most natural environment.

– says Sanchi who is mentored by Raghu Rai into the world of photography.

Her genres of specialisation includes

–Street photography

–Portrait photography

–Studio photography

Events

She also conducts photography walks, in and around Delhi and organises photo tours for enthusiastic photographers in India.

Humankind longs for immortality- want to leave behind something for the posterity. Photography, for me, as an art form is part of that desire to be immortal and as a photographer one is immensely blessed to live beyond one’s life as photography is a journey to eternity.

– adds Sanchi

All I can take away from her story is –spend time with your inner self to evolve your own skill and vision and folks, being persistent always pays!

The Man Behind The Glamour and Beauty! 1762

Jewelery and Accessories add a little sparkle wherever you go.

Absolutely right!! Coz every piece of jewelry tells a story. Isn’t it??

Today I am here to share the story of a man who fancied, created and designed his own brand for jewellery. Meet Mr Abhishek Sehgal, owner of the fast-growing online brand of jewelry, JEVELEN, that has already made its mark all over the world, and is all set to make a mark in India too.

India is a country with a great passion for jewels, art, and culture. Various stones like ruby, diamonds, emeralds etc, not only have their prominence in enhancing beauty but also are used in significance to the horoscopes. We find custom made ornaments depending on our choices and Jevelen is one such brand set out to bring a difference at an affordable price and at the comfort of buying online.

I feel like Jewelry just happened! It kind of chose me, I think!!

– says Abhishek, thinking back to how he came into the business of gems and diamonds.

[aesop_image img=”https://gallinukkad.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/jevelen-owner1.jpg” offset=”-100px” align=”right” lightbox=”on” captionposition=”left” revealfx=”off”]

Being born to a business class family of Delhi, he was always driven by a desire to start something on his own. A business that sets him as a unique and successful entrepreneur, a job where he can be his own boss. After completing his senior secondary in education, he decided to go to Sydney, Australia to find himself a job. But it was difficult to find a good one and he worked in a couple of places trying to find a living. He also worked in Agricultural farm land for few months before he found of job in a jewelry workshop.

I have always loved designing and doing creative things since my childhood and finding a job in designing and creating jewelry out of precious stones was like a dream come true to me.

– recalls Abhishek, with a smile on his face remembering his earlier days of his dream job when he initially started as a worker.

Although he was the most intelligent and best worker, his salary did not make him reach his dreams and to make his own mark with his talents that he learned over the time while designing the jewels.

Then is when he decided to start JEVELEN his own brand of beautiful Jewelry and accessories. He began to design and market his products. The start was definitely not a walk on a bed of roses. He did struggle to bring his business into one of the top-selling jewelers without any much back-up, support and being self-funded. Well, as they say, “where there is a will, there is a way”…. stands true to this man. There was no stepping back once he started and he began with promoting his products. As he was in Australia, he started from there and slowly he spread the business globally.

The biggest challenge for me was creating a product differentiation. Keeping that in mind, our products are unique in design and in its make. Jevelen Jewels are made with Rhodium, an American Diamond. The best part of it is they are not copied or merchandised and are original.

–  tells Abhishek who is all eager to bring it to his home country that is India.

Being successful globally, he is looking forward to launching the brand here in India with a dream of many possibilities. Launching his brand alone is not the idea, but he also wishes to provide jobs to the unemployed by setting up workshops of jewelry making across many cities in the country thereby hiring people with a craftsman’s hand.

The company will be launched with about 50+ franchise outlets across PAN India and will be soon one of the major jewelry brands of our country. The company also donates 10% of their monthly profit to charity in terms of child education, old-age homes, widows, animal feeding and orphanages trying to provide a hand to those in need.

Here is a man who not only has a good heart and is talented with an art of designing gems & diamonds but also knows the value of hard work.

As an entrepreneur and a good human being, Abhishek Sehgal, truly stands as an inspiration who has achieved so much at such a young age.

So, what are you waiting for? Go check Jevelen website and order up the fanciest jewels of your choice.
