Kraftdeck, a venture of Hand-made artifacts. 553

Art is not what you see, but what you make others see.

The statement is true to it’s core. Isn’t it?

And it’s even more true for Prerna, Founder of Kraftdeck, a venture of handcrafted home decor products and furniture. India is one of the fast developing country and women here are equally ambitious. Hailing from a business class family, Prerna inherited it in her genes and wanted to become a successful entrepreneur. Her grandfather who had migrated from Pakistan at the time of partition established his own business and her father, a successful jeweler in Indore are two people who set an example for her to follow her dreams.

Being born in a Marwari family, Prerna grew up seeing all her aunts, uncles, cousins and any other family member having their own business and making their way into the commercial market. Having her father and grandfather as her ideals, she also wanted to own her own business and build a career of her own after completing her graduation of BBA. She and her sister Chandini together started a boutique with Indian ethnic wear as their specialization.

I and my sister always had an eye for the latest fashions and trends. We knew every new design, collections, quality of materials and every other single detail of the fashion world and wanted to deliver and showcase it to the world in the form of our work.

– Says Prerna beaming while talking about her initial business that was the gate proof or a beginning for her to start on her own.

Although both the sisters together took their boutique into a well-established level for about four years, but Prerna got married and had to move to Delhi from Indore.

New place, new people, Prerna got busy in building a family and it almost took two years after she was able to find her way back to work. However, this time she could not go back to the boutique in a place like Delhi.

When you travel you meet yourself. After marriage, I traveled to different cities and I found myself. I discovered my interest in the local art, vibrant colors, immaculate details of our artisans and various other things relating to art inspired me. I decided that I want to touch people houses, their space and their lives with beautiful hand-made artwork.

– recalls Prerana, who is celebrating the first year completion of her home decor venture Kraftdeck.

Initially, before starting the Kraftdeck company she attended art classes to know more about every stroke of art. Slowly, she began to do artworks for her own house as well as for other family members. It was really difficult for her to find all the necessary things such as the raw materials, sourcing, packaging, shipping, and manpower. However, she worked hard and made sure she is capable of opening Kraftdeck.

After about three months approximately she was ready to begin her home decor and offbeat furniture company that is Kraftdeck. Her first break to do a design where she could widely be noticed with her artwork was when she was asked by the renowned interior designer Heena Handa to create decorating products for Karma Lakeland Resort in Manesar.

Client satisfaction, quality, and patience are the key for a successful entrepreneurship. But to keep yourself motivated and optimistic at times when things do not turn up the way we desire is the hidden secret for one to reach the top of the success ladder.

– claims Prerna thinking about her journey with Kraftdeck so far.

Starting the company was not as easy and she did struggle. Marriage and family took most of her time. She and her family were not interested in a 9-5 desk job as Prerna was always interested in something creative. She did try to find herself in various activity such as the chocolate making, baking delicious cakes and cookies, and so on. However, it is in the art class where she felt connected and had a true calling. She built her Krafdeck through some of the known contacts from her husband clienteles who is into marble and granite business.

I was always interested in hand-made gifts. I remember how I use to give many hand-made gifts to my husband Aditya while we were engaged to be married. Personalized gifts always give more meaning and stay closer to the heart to me.

– blushes Prerna remembering her carefree days before marriage.

The idea of making her own gifts had sown a new seed to sell personalized gift items as people are more interested in gifting different and unique rather than same old gifts. That’s when Kraftdeck came into existence.

With a vision to be an exclusive company of handcrafted home decor and furniture, Prerna’s focus is to collaborate with interior designers and architects around the world to create hand-crafted products that bring beautiful design, art, and nature together. The  Kraftdeck will also be launched online soon to increase the comfort of customers to see and buy their products. The plan is to make it to the international market before 2018.

Persistence, perfection, patience, power, prioritizing your passion is the way to keep yourself sane and this is my mantra for life.

– says Prerna with all the confidence on her face who has high dreams in making Kraftdeck recognized all over the country and globally.

Well, what’s life without a piece of art? I would say it’s the most boring one, isn’t it? Here is Kraftdeck FB page. Check out for amazing artefacts for your home or workplace.

Most Annoying Habits of a Husband!! 3593

Talking about the husband and in-laws is one of the common topics for most women because, hey! In a way they are part of our world, aren’t they? But seriously, when the talk is about the husband, after the sweet things like how romantic he is or what all the good things he does to make us smile or feel lovely, there comes the annoying things they do, which is actually on a daily basis that constantly keeps us irritated.

Trying to change them is certainly an impossible task. We women are not perfect either and probably we too got some things that might be irritating to the husband, but here is a wife perspective.

Habit 1- chewing food with mouth open and making sounds

I am sure no women raises her son to become a cow when he grows up, although I wonder why some men just cannot get rid of the habit of making those annoying sounds of chewing while eating their food. Do they really do not realize that how annoying it can be for others who are also trying to eat the same food sitting next to them or is it simply the husband do not care?

Habit 2 – Mixing up the order of arrangement

Asking your husband to help around the house is like asking a kid to help. My husband helps a lot around the house, but what I dislike is the mixing of the order. Not that I am suffering from OCD however, I still like to keep certain things in its place which makes it easier to reach out the next time. For example, different clothes in different shelves, kids clothes another wardrobe, orderly arrangement of spice boxes in the kitchen etc. The other day I kept looking for a dress of mine for more than half an hour in my shelf and realized it was my husband who folded the washed and dried clothes. So knowing him, I looked for it in my kid shelf and found it. Things like this can be really annoying when you do not have the time and the patience.

Habit 3- Pretending listening to you while he watches the TV

Most husbands think their wife cannot differentiate when they animatedly shake their head to something she might be speaking while their eyes and mind both are on the TV. Here’s some news for all married men! Your wife knows when you are being inattentive and if you want to avoid problems and arguments later on, better you listen to her while she is really trying to make a conversation.

Habit 4 – Forgetting important things

I believe most husbands have a temporary Alzheimer. Because at least more than once they tell their wife that they forgot to inform something important and can remember only when asked about it. Why I wonder? Or is it something deliberately done? What do you think ladies?

Habit 5 – Sleeping in unmade bed

It drives me nuts when I see anyone, not only my husband but anyone sleep before making the bed. My husband argument is, why waste so much of energy in making the bed neat just so you can spoil all of it again? It’s simply impossible for me to get some sleep even if the bedspread is crumpled.

Habit 6 – Not bathing in the weekends

It’s a ritual for most men. If it is a weekend, all they think of is watching TV, sleeping entire day and then they do not shower. I just do not get it why do you have to skip shower though?

Habit 7 – Keys and wallets are in wrong place

In our house, I am the one who can find all the things that everyone misplaces. Though we have a key stand to put all the keys as soon as one enter and each of them have a separate shelf to keep their daily belongings like ID’s, wallets etc. Yet, they go on keeping them all around the house except not where it needs to be kept.

Habit 8 – Using laptops, mobile or newspaper while sitting on the commode

My husband carries his laptop even when he uses the bathroom. Nothing is more annoying when you are actually waiting to talk about something and the husband is busy using the bathroom for more than 20 minutes. If not a laptop, some have a habit of playing games on mobile or checking out the minute news app or even read a news paper. Talk about not wasting even a minute!!!

Do these habits seem familiar? It’s not only women who do odd things, but also men. Women and men are different species who are born to annoy each other and hence they are perfectly paired. Though the husband may irritate us in so many ways, the love and care always stands up, isn’t it?

Comment if your husband got any other habits that are not listed in the list and share the article to have a good laugh with family and friends.

  1. Choice of Snack

The first thing to do is clearing, your office and home cupboards, drawers of all kind of candies, chips, crispy wafers, muffins. Now replace them with more healthy and nutritious snacks like unsalted, unroasted nuts, fresh fruits, seeds and keep some raisins or dates for that sugar cravings.

Many times we confuse thirst with hunger. Do your body a favor by drinking 6-8 glasses of water throughout the day. And every time you feel hungry have a glass of water before having your snack.

  1. Be Mindful

  1. Don’t forget to carry your snacks

Whenever you go out make sure to carry your snack bag with you. This will keep you away from those nasty food items which contain sugar and processed food. This way you can have your healthy snack even when you are having coffee with your friend.
