Let’s learn from these cute, little wonders in our lives 172

So if you think that the years of experience makes us wiser and learned. Let me correct you here guys coz while we try to teach our children about life, our children teach us what life is all about!! Hmmm….You don’t believe me! Just take some time out and observe children around, you will notice that they know more than we know, they live life naturally with zeal and zest. Here are my observations and list of things that we can learn from little wonders in our lives-

1. Ha Ha Ha….Laugh Often

Children don’t wait for something funny to happen, you will notice them laughing when they meet someone or when they are busy playing. They just laugh at anything that amuses them. Whereas, we adults very rarely laugh and if we do so it’s not a laugh that reaches our eyes. Trust me, typing LOL on WhatsApp won’t energize you but ‘Ha Ha Ha’ will. 😉

  1. Don’t Cork Up Your Emotions

Have you ever seen kids hiding the way they are feeling, children, will let you know when they are happy, sad, angry or hurt! But we adults bottle up our feelings and emotions because we fear what others will think or say. We should learn to acknowledge our emotions and pour them out.

  1. Express Love

The best part of love is to express it, kids don’t shy out in saying that they love you, without any fear they will hug and kiss you and say ‘ I LOVE YOU”. They take the effort to make cards craft for you, whereas, we don’t even express love to our parents or best friends wholeheartedly. Do we?

  1. Avoid People who are mean and Hurt you

Though children get friendly with everyone naturally, but they know how to recognise and stay away from someone who makes them feel bad. Unlike adults, children don’t pretend.

  1. Do Things You Enjoy

Too often, we adults stop doing things that we enjoy for varied reasons, but with children, they just do whatever makes them feel good. They draw and paint even if they don’t know how to. They take part in dancing competitions even if they can’t follow steps. They sing whenever they feel like without worrying who is listening and what they are singing.

  1. Own What You Achieve

No matter how small thing children achieve, they feel proud of themselves and share their happiness with others. Adults should try to be the same, we should also feel the pride in whatever we accomplish without comparing it with what others have.

  1. Be Positive

Due to all our problems, we tend to focus only on the negative side of things and forget to think positively. However, we should learn from children how after every failure they wake up the next day with the confidence and positive energy to achieve what they had failed, the other day.

If you observe carefully, you will notice that only children and all children believe they’re capable of everything. They just go for it. Let’s carry ‘Yes, I can’, ‘who cares’ and ‘No worries’ attitude like these cuties and enjoy our lives to the fullest.

Well, this myth has been busted and the current school of thought says you should snack every couple of hours as this boost your metabolism.

The fact is snacking is undeniably good for your overall health as it keeps your metabolism high all the time. We tend to keep ourselves hungry for very long thinking it will help us reduce weight, but the truth is this act reduces our blood sugar level precariously and thus we make bad choices for our next meal.

Certainly, snacking is good for you but it solely depends on what you choose to eat. The fact that you can snack doesn’t give you the liberty to eat anything and everything. Here are top five tips to snack the right way.

  1. Choice of Snack

The first thing to do is clearing, your office and home cupboards, drawers of all kind of candies, chips, crispy wafers, muffins. Now replace them with more healthy and nutritious snacks like unsalted, unroasted nuts, fresh fruits, seeds and keep some raisins or dates for that sugar cravings.

  1. Only eat when you are Hungry

It necessary to only eat when your tummy signals that it’s empty, but don’t wait till it starts to growl. Now is the time to grab a handful of the healthy snacks mentioned above and enjoy every bit of it.

  1. Keep yourself Hydrated

Many times we confuse thirst with hunger. Do your body a favor by drinking 6-8 glasses of water throughout the day. And every time you feel hungry have a glass of water before having your snack.

  1. Be Mindful

Don’t forget even healthy snacks contain calories. Sometimes we misinterpret that healthy and low-fat snack doesn’t contain calories so we can over-indulge. To avoid this, make little packets or portions of your snack this way you won’t over eat.

  1. Don’t forget to carry your snacks

Whenever you go out make sure to carry your snack bag with you. This will keep you away from those nasty food items which contain sugar and processed food. This way you can have your healthy snack even when you are having coffee with your friend.

Life Changing Lessons From Krishna! 371

Have you ever been at a crossroads, confused about which direction to take… wondered if you needed to quit or continue, leave or stay, do or not do, act or just wait till things tide over? Being in doubt is a common phenomenon, more often than not, it’s an everyday experience. We’re constantly questioning ourselves even in small simple acts… we’re playing out these mini wars in our mind. Aren’t we??

Today on the holy day of Krishna Janmashtami, I would like to take this opportunity to share few awe inspiring teachings from Bhagavad Gita. Trust me, this helps!

No wonder Bhagavad Gita, continues to be looked upon as the “manual of life”. It is not only a sacred book for Hindus but also used by many organizations for better management and is even included in the syllabus of some business schools.

Here are few teachings from the Bhagavad Gita and Krishna’s life and on a deeper thought, you can use them to resolve your own uncertainties, doubts, fears, and confusions.

Think with a calm mind

The first step to gaining clarity on any situation is developing a clear, calm and collected mind. This takes a lot of effort. One way is meditation, another is by distancing yourself from the situation – not physically but mentally – where you look at it as an outsider and have a bird’s eye view of it.

Don’t give in to stress

Get rid of excessive worry, don’t take on more than you can cope with and add enough me-time in your day to help you de-stress.

Give up on results

Most of our decisions get affected because we wonder about their outcomes and consequences. But when you realize that you have little control over the final outcome and when you don’t focus on the gains, your efforts will be filled with more meaning.

Treat everyone equally

Treat everyone with the same lens of impartiality. Caste, color, religion etc are all man made.Spiritually speaking, there isn’t any difference between anyone. We are all one.

Act with conviction

Before you undertake any action, think about how strongly you believe in it.

Believe in Friendship

Love your friends irrespective of their status, caste and creed; it teaches us to help them in their bad times and not to mention the help; it teaches us to watch the back of a friend.

Believe in Yourself and the Almighty God

Have faith in yourself, believe in your talents, finally to believe in the supreme power i.e. The Almighty God”.

Listen to your Conscience

Our conscience never lies to us, it is unbiased and sometimes very rude when the truth is bitter, it is for the same reason why most of us refrain from hearing its voice.

Never give up on what you love

Krishna had a deep love for the flute, and he never stopped playing it just because of his commitments. Even during times of war, it was by his side.Hobbies and passions can breathe new life into us when we’re overwhelmed.

Being of service to our fellow man

No matter what, being of service to mankind is considered as being of service to God.

Selfless, unconditional love is the key

Not only did he bless those that offended him but he also practiced unconditional love while offering ‘mukti’ (enlightenment) to his devotees. His Life was all about divine love.

Taking One Day at a Time

Do not worry about past or future, just do your karma in present. It’s easy to get bogged down by challenging circumstances but staying mindful and in present can make things much easier.

Last but not the least…..

Man-mana bhava mad-bhakto mad-yaji mam namaskuru mam evaishyasi satyam te pratijane priyo ‘si me!

Be aware of me always, adore me, make every act an offering to me, and you shall come to me; this I (Krishna) promise, for you, are dear to me.

Happy Janamashtmi !!

God bless!
