I love winters and this is how I take care of my Skin…What about you??

I personally love winters. The chilly season makes me feel fresh and alive. Cozy jumpers, boots, scarves, and what not! But, unfortunately, winter is not fun for the skin. The change in humidity, the exposure to indoor heaters, and blustery winds actually can make skin drier and duller. So, this is how I combat the harsh effects of seasonal change, I hope it helps you too: –


During winters our skin requires more moisture to stay soft and supple. Therefore, it’s necessary to moisturize your skin regularly especially after you take bath. Also, adopt the habit of applying moisturizer to your hands and feet before you go to bed.

Ditch the Lotion go for Cream

With seasonal change we switch our wardrobes, it’s a good idea to do the same for your skin too. Use creams instead of lotions, because creams are more moisturizing than lotions. As lotions don’t provide a strong oil barrier to reduce water loss in the skin. Creams may feel sticky and heavy on the skin, but they provide better protection against extreme temperature. My personal favorite is the Blue Nivea Crème, which is easily available and affordable too.

Spend less time in Shower

Shocked on the mention of this point? But it’s true, during winter’s being in a hot shower for long is what we all like. Ironically this makes our skin cry out for moisture over the long run. Thus, opt for shorter and lukewarm baths and showers and as mentioned previously apply a layer of moisturizer from head to toe.

Don’t Skip Sunscreen

You must be wondering, Why Sunscreen when there is no sun? No issues, as the sunscreen stays! I know during winters we are less exposed to the sun, that doesn’t mean we should stop protecting our skin from its rays altogether.

Scrub for Lips

Chapped lips are a curse during winters, as it spoils your overall look and makes you look sick. To get rid of this flaky skin use this simple sugar scrub. All you need to do is mix some jojoba oil with few granules of regular sugar and gently rub on your lips once a day, followed by a regular lip balm for those kissable lips.

That’s it!! So simple….
